About Todd Quitno
Raised in northern-central Illinois, Todd Quitno developed his love for golf at a course whose original nine was designed by the legendary Perry Maxwell. Todd’s maternal grandfather, an accomplished golfer and early greenskeeper at the course, is credited with designing the back nine holes. His lore and family legacy became a key influence in Todd’s passion for the game and his eventual pursuit of a career in golf course architecture.
After earning a Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture from Ball State University in 1996, Todd joined Lohmann Golf Designs, Inc. as an associate architect. As the golf construction boom took off, Todd quickly rose to Senior Project Architect, leading both new course and renovation projects for two decades. In 2018, he became Partner and Senior Vice President of Design, and the company rebranded to Lohmann Quitno Golf Course Architects, Inc.
In July 2022, Todd founded Quitno Golf Designs, Inc. to continue the legacy of exceptional golf course architecture and to further contribute to the growth of the game. Recognized for its balance of artistry and practicality, Todd’s nationally acclaimed new course and renovation work continues to improve the quality and viability of existing golf courses while embracing community and environmental connections. For these outstanding efforts, he has been recognized by numerous local and national organizations, including Golf Inc. magazine’s Renovation of the Year (2004, 2005, 2010, 2012) and the ASGCA’s Design Excellence Award (2014, 2020).
Todd is a Member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (class of 2010), serving on the Board of Governor, Golf Committee, and Education Committee.
