Todd began his golf course architecture career in 1996 when he graduated with a BLA in Landscape Architecture from Ball State University and joined the Lohmann team as a design apprentice. In 2018, Todd was promoted to a partnership role as Vice President of Design, prompting the changing of the company name to Lohmann Quitno Golf Course Architects, Inc. With over two decades of experience, Todd has been involved in a half dozen new course designs and over 150 renovation projects ranging in size from one-hole feature upgrades to 27-hole comprehensive overhauls.
Recognized for its balance of artistry and practicality, Todd’s nationally acclaimed renovation work continues to improve the quality and viability of existing golf courses while embracing community and environmental connections and the growth of the game. For these outstanding efforts, he has been recognized by numerous local and national organizations, including Golf Inc. magazine’s Renovation of the Year (2004, 2005, 2010, 2012) and the ASGCA’s Design Excellence Award (2014).
In 2010, Todd was elected into the prestigious American Society of Golf Course Architects as an associate member. In 2015, he achieved regular member status and now sits on the Board of Governors. Todd has been invited on numerous occasions to share his expertise as a seminar speaker at local and national conferences on a variety of golf design subjects such as Master Planning, Storm Water Management and Grow the Game Initiatives.
