This semi-private 18-hole layout winds through a stunning property with rolling hills, mature woodlands, and long vistas of majestic Lake Geneva. But the greens at this 50-yr old cllub were way too steeply sloped, which required the grounds crew to keep speeds in check (i.e. higher cut) otherwise they were unpinnable. Several greens also had very steep surrounds that were tough for the novice golfer to navigate as balls would funnel far away or into deep bunkers. Our goal with the renovation here was to rebuild the greens to create a lot more variety in the surfaces, focusing heavily on creating more pinning space guarded by fun bumps, ridges and rolls. The surrounds were also completely rebuilt, and now the bunkering has a more classic, elegant look and is accompanied with bentgrass roll-off and roll-on areas that provide more recovery options and interest. Several miles of fairway drainage were also added. Now the recovery of the course after storms is much improved and the membership is ecstatic with the results.
