Restoration

Schaumburg Golf Club

Park District leaders were looking to improve the long-term sustainability of the 27-hole course for the next generation that required addressing a failing infrastructure and agronomic issues with the existing greens.

Based on a Quitno Golf master plan, nines holes were renovated at a time over three seasons, including a total rebuild of the greens and bunkers, resurfacing of tees and fairways, as well as moving of two holes to allow expansion of the range, enhanced chipping and putting complexes. All holes now feature a graduated set of tee markers, playing as short as 1,900 yards for nine holes, which are meant to foster growth and development of new players.

“Todd Quitno was instrumental in assisting the district with evaluating and implementing the long-term investments in our facility’s future,” said Tony LaFranere, Executive Director Schaumburg Park District. “Todd and team, which includes irrigation consultants and engineers, were fantastic to work with throughout the process. The great changes have created a tremendous buzz around the golf course and we’ve experienced record rounds since reopening.”
