White Eagle

With an existing area of about 160,000 sf over the three nines, the bunkers were large and quite contaminated with years of washouts and storm damage. The renovation strategy included a reduction to around 86,000 total sf with much of the eliminated sand areas replaced by bentgrass run-offs and run-ons, providing a variety of different ways to approach the greens by using the surrounding slopes. The new bunkers were cut directly off green and fairway edges and styled with Augusta-like flashed faces to maximize visibility and interest.
