Looking to upgrade their deteriorating infrastructure and compete with Omaha’s top private clubs, the owners of this 27-hole public facility recently underwent a three-phase green and bunker renovation. The existing putting surfaces were hot gassed (methyl bromide) and re-grassed to a T-1 variety and the fairways were resurfaced to an elite Ryegrass. The bunkers were relocated to improve strategic values and re-styled with bold, flashed faces, complete with new liners and high-end Arkansas white sand. The result is a dramatically new look, quality playing surfaces, and lots of attention from state and national tournaments as a host course. Shortly after completing the renovation at Indian Creek, the ownership was approached by the PGA Tour to host the Web.com’s Pinnacle Bank Championship, marking the long-awaited return of the tour to the Omaha area. In July 2017, the inaugural event was held on the Gray Hawk and Black Bird Nines and received great accolades from the patrons and competitors!
